5 useful skills schools don’t teach

As a grown up today, having learnt many other lessons of life by experience and the hard , we certainly wish only if a few things would have come to us the right way, the right time, things would have been different, not that its bad though….

But for sure we appreciate everything that has been learnt and only coz we respect and value the qualities and also understand the importance of the same, understand how much of value it adds to each individual alongside your academics, we feel practising the same is only going to keep you moving ahead and ahead and ahead, even if sometimes it doesn’t go your way. We always feel that there’s something better and best in store for tomorrow.

How much ever we excel at our academics , if we’ve not contribute the same towards ourselves , we’re not sure how we’ve got to be running this show and considerably working towards the better you each day.

The skills that according to me would play a major role and give a boost to yourself for the brighter part of you is certainly SELF ESTEEM – Self esteem is one such jewel that adds a gem to your crown which enhances each one of us to understand, accept and appreciate yourself the way you are, never thinking low about your appearance, your colour, your structure, your ideas, your values, your status, and so on goes the list. Every kid at school first should be taught to accept himself/herself the way they are, with a feeling that you are special and you are here for a purpose. The above mentioned things don’t define you but on the other hand you define them and you add more value to them.

The next one would certainly be to understand the miracles, wonders and beauty that GRATITUDE can add to you. Indeed the three magical words –Thank you, sorry and please are taught in school, but the real meaning of gratitude is realising that it’s not just about saying a thank you but knowing that the two words THANK YOU holds an abundance of magic in it. It’s not about appreciating only others and being grateful to them, but being grateful to your own self for every bit that you have and you become, only to attract multifold of graces and blessings knowing that you’re not just left like that , believing that there is someone watching you and helping you work towards your own betterment and success.

Of course at a younger age once you get to know What’s your purpose, why are you here, What is it that’s meant to be for you??? You’re gonna go a long way planning your journey in the walk of life and achieving nothing but the best for you. In short GOAL SETTING… We must teach our kids that importance of short term and long term goals and help them work towards it.

RESPECT AND EMPATHY towards self and others – DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU WOULD WANT TO BE DONE TO YOU. Show others the feeling of respect, the way you would want others to make you feel. Learning to respect oneself and thinking about any given situation from all angles possible, as the saying “PUT YOURSELF IN SOMEONE ELSE’S SHOES” so you know that it takes a much for someone to be the way they want to be.

SMILE, CONFIDENCE AND HUMILITY – To sum it all up…. Smile your way to glory, coz no one wants to see a frown, a smile is the best thing that anyone can wear, it’s got to be making you feel super confident about yourself, coz if you don’t, no one else is going to be confident about you….hold yourself high…. Humility – with everything by your side, learning to be humble and thanking and cherishing each individual that walks by you.

Over a period of time, schools definitely have taken up steps to work academically and on personality building as well, which is greatly appreciated. Wishing to see many different beautiful personalities making their way towards a better, brighter and fruitful India… Way to go……..
