Becoming an entrepreneur 101

An entrepreneur is someone who owns or builds his own business. Having the whole and sole rights in the business firm, the entrepreneur can take part in all the profits that the business indulges in. But that's not all if there is profit. A truly successful entrepreneur should handle both of them equally and stand still in his firm with absolute confidence.

"It's fine to celebrate success, but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure."- Bill Gates

Here are a few attributes that make a successful entrepreneur:

1. Entrepreneurial management skills:

Entrepreneurs play the most vital role in the economy. An entrepreneur must know how to manage the challenges that come his way to succeeding. Be it project management, client management, financial management, or risk management. Those who can manage things with ease are those who run their businesses smoothly. Making smart investments and researching them should be a few managements that one must master in the initial stages of his entrepreneurship. If at all a few glitches arise in the business firm, investments might bring the business back. Considering the principles and strategies proposed by the experienced, understanding them, making the right moves at the right times is the key to being the best in the business.

2. Better conversation and listening skills:

Being an entrepreneur, one must be great at communication. If one fails to express things simply, it means that they haven't understood the things well;

Business is all about expressing new ideas and making them work in real life. If one's expressed ideas fail, there is no point in being in the business. The communication skills that a businessman has to own will be the one that has to satisfy all the other people in the firm; one must leave an impact among fellow people. Apart from communication, one must be a great listener too. They should be able to grasp whatever the others in the firm are communicating and must have the audacity to improve the conversations by raising questions or answering them whenever necessary.

3. A lifelong learner:

A businessman ought to be a learner till death. To be in the business, one must be up to date with the trends, terms, investing ideas, learning sources, etc. An entrepreneur's greatest skill is his or her ability to learn. Forget owning a business and being an owner; if one is a vivacious learner, they are the ones who succeed. Learning without hesitance, proudness, and hatred. A learner is never a failure; he will always find ways to become whatever he wants. Constant learning cannot be mastered but practiced alone. Learning is a never-ending process, one who learns every day is the one who stays in the business market and paves his way for success.

4. The ability to network:

Communication and networking are intertwined. The better one is as a communicator, the best one can build a network. A business can never be made work single-handedly. Though the one who owns it might be a single individual, the network he owns becomes a vital part of the development of the business in surpassing all the challenges that the business might venture upon. The greater the networking, the greater the promotions of the business. The better the promotions, the best the sales of the business. Networking skills are a crucial part of building a prosperous enterprise. They lay a solid foundation for the business.

5. Strong decision-making abilities and a zeal to take on challenges:

Most of us fail to start a business; decision-making is the first step to be in the success range. Most of them fail in deciding the first step itself. Leaders must have the courage to make decisions. The one who decides to make a move is the one who is halfway in his business. Decisions are not always meant to turn out into good deeds or profits, but learning from them is always there. The world of business has both good and bad moments. It is necessary to take risk factors into account when making business decisions. Accepting the outcomes of the business decisions gracefully is necessary to become a successful entrepreneur.

"The fear of making a decision is the result of fearing to make a mistake – the truth is, the fear of mistakes has a greater impact on you than making the mistakes." -Bob Proctor.

In conclusion:

Successful entrepreneurship comprises much more skills than mentioned above. It is all a learning experience in the journey. An entrepreneur must be a decision-maker, an excellent conveyor of his ideas, a great listener of opinions, a question bank, and an open learner. He should be able to grasp opportunities that come his way. Good or bad, there is learning in everything. Should possess smart moves of investing, so that both the business and him are in safe hands. Assessing risks and acting accordingly are his traits. Practice, make decisions, learn from them, make moves, invest smart, market your brand, make strategies and repeat!

Tips to be a better entrepreneur:

● Read books involved in entrepreneurship or are likely to be authored by entrepreneurs themselves. ● Start small and make it big. ● Listen to business podcasts interviews. ● Research before starting. ● Have the courage to make moves and accept the results. ● If unsure at any phase, empathize with someone you admire; you might end up with an answer. ● If stuck, rely on experienced businessmen's strategies; they might have done something to be called successful. ● Even if the opportunities that come your way are easy, do not accept them if you are not happy about doing it.

Here are A few quotes that might wake your inner entrepreneur to kick start entrepreneurship :

Oprah Winfrey: "Don't worry about being successful but work toward being significant, and the success will naturally follow."
Unknown: "Remember why you started."
Theodore Roosevelt: "The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred with dust and sweat; who strives valiantly, who errs and may fall again and again because there is no effort without error or shortcoming."
"Most people are not going after what they want. Even some of the most serious goal seekers and goal setters, they're going after what they think they can get."― Bob Proctor
"One thing you should never, never do, is worried about whether or not you'll get the amount of money you desire, because we tend to manifest that which we focus on, so if we're focused and worried about not having money, then we tend to attract more of that way of life, as opposed to if we focus on what we do want and what's possible and what we can achieve, then we tend to gravitate towards that." – Bob Proctor
